The Fauxto Studio is owned and operated by Jarod and Claire Knoten who are part time professional wedding photographers based in Chicago IL. We have been happily married since August of 2009 and have a super cool pups named Midge and Pixel. Jarod is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Claire hails from Uhrichsville, Ohio. We currently live and work in Chicago IL. Jarod is a web programmer for a large online diamond company and Claire recently received her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the ECU Brody School of Medicine and works in a post doctoral position at Northwestern University. We love to travel and spend time outdoors camping or taking photos of anything that catches our eye. When we are stuck indoors we love to cook, brew our own beer, and watch trivia game shows.
The idea for starting Fauxto Studio came after being asked numerous times by our wedding photography clients if it was ok if they also had a photo booth at their wedding in addition to our photography services. This of course was ok with us and we actually thought it was a great idea! The idea was so great in fact we decided to look into renting one out as an addition to our wedding packages. After researching the market we found a few things with the concept that bothered us. The quality of the photos produced was usually poor, not everyone in the photo received a copy, “Ulimited Printing” was actually limited to the amount of photos the printer could produce durring the rental time, and only a couple people at a time could have their photo taken. With all of these things considered we set out to build a “Photo Booth” that solved these problems, and was something we would have wanted at our own wedding. We quickly realized that with a typical Photo Booth system many of the issues could not be solved, so we decided to think bigger! We managed to solve all of the problems with the concept of the Fauxto Studio. First off we decided to eliminate on-site printing. Why? speed! We want you and your guests to have true unlimited photos, and once you get a printer involved this is not possible. So instead of onsite prints there will be a large monitor available to view the photos after they are taken. To solve the quality issue we knew we had to bring out the big guns! A professional grade Nikon DSLR camera and professional lighting are used to get you the highest quality images available in any Photo Booth Rental around! The professional camera and lighting also allows for true unlimited photography, our system can keep up with even the fasted trigger finger and the camera comes packed with enough memory to store way more photos than is humanly possible to take within your rental period. We also wanted to make sure that everyone at the event was able to get every photo, so we decided to make every full resolution image available in an online gallery for easy downloading. Even people who could not make your event can still enjoy the photos! The bride and groom or event coordinator will also receive a custom DVD with all images in color and black and white. Another important aspect we definitely had to include was the ability to photograph more than a couple of people at a time. After all, a party generally has more than a two or three people right? Right! To fit the max amount of people we include a 10ft wide by 9ft tall backdrop that can easily accomodate 5 average people side by side or a dozen or more people who are really friendly!
